Procedure To Connect, Back-Up And Save backup

Step 1: Connect the Online Backup and Restore app

  • Log in to your QuickBooks Online Advanced company you have to back up as an admin.
  • In the Settings go to the Backup company option.
  • Click on Companies in the tab.
  • Choose to Add a Company or Connect to QuickBooks.
  • Choose the company you have to connect to.
  • Follow the onscreen instruction in order to connect to the app.

Step 2: Back up all accounting file

You will get three backup options: automatic online backups, manual online backups for one time, and normal backups to DropBox or Google.

How to set up continuous backups

In this case the Online Backup and Restore app will automatically make backups 6 – 11 minutes once you make an alteration. It will also run daily scheduled backups. Here how you can set up continuous backups:

  • Log in to your Online Backup and Restore app.
  • Click on the option Companies from the tab.
  • Hit on Enable Backup.
How to  turn off continuous backups:
  • Log in to your Online Backup and Restore app.
  • Click on the option Companies from the tab.
  • Go to the gear icon for the company you have to stop backing up.
  • Click to Disable backup.
How to do a one-time manual backup
  • Log in to your Online Backup and Restore app.
  • Click on the option Backup from the tab.
  • Click on New Manual Backup.
  • Go to the Backup Type dropdown menu, click on Incremental, Full, or Complete.

How to save backups to DropBox or Google

Link Your Account

  • Log in to your Online Backup and Restore app.
  • Click on the option Backup from the tab.
  • Click on Link a Service.
  • Choose Link Google Drive or Link DropBox.
  • Follow the onscreen instruction to allow QuickBooks to create the backups.

Save a backup to DropBox or Google:

  • Choose the option for Local Backup from the menu.
  • Click on New Local Backup Schedule.
  • From the Company field, go to the company you want to backup.
  • From the Frequency field, go to the Once to save a single backup now. Users are able to select Monthly, Weekly, or Daily to schedule automatic backups.
  • Go to the Service section, click on Dropbox, or Google.
  • Once you’re ready, click to Create Local Backup Schedule.

Step 3: Restore accounting data

  • Log in to your Online Backup and Restore app.
  • Click on the option restore from the tab.
  • Click on the New Restore.
  • Go to the Company dropdown menu, click on the company you have to overwrite, and restore accounting data to.
  • Go to the Restore to the dropdown menu, click on the time and date you have to restore to.
  • Once you are ready, click to Create Restore. 
  • Then choose Restore to confirm.
