  • Select the Gear icon at the top, then choose Chart of Accounts.
  • Select New at the top right.
  • From the Account Type drop-down, Select Income or Expense.
    • If you need to decrease your sales tax due, set up an income accounts
    • If you need to increase your sales tax due, set up expense accounts.
  • Select the account’s Detail Type.
    • Use Sales of Product Income for income accounts.
    • Use Taces paid for an expense account.
  • Name your adjustment account.
  • Select Save and Close.

Step 2:- Step to Add Sales Tax

  • Select Taxes from the Navigation bar and then go to the Sales Tax tab.
  • Find the tax period you need to adjust, and then select View return
  • Select Add an adjustment.
  • Select the Reason for the adjustment.
  • Choose the Account for adjusting sales tax.
    • Select an expense account if you need to increase the tax due.
    • Select an income account if you need to decrease the tax due.
  • Enter the adjustment amount and then choose the add option.

Procedure to Delete Sales Tax

  • Select the Gear icon at the top then choose Chart Accounts
  • Find the income or expense account you used to add an adjustment.
  • Select Run report.
  • Choose the adjustment you need to delete.
  • Select Delete.
  • To confirm, you must select the Delete option again.

How to deactivate the tax rate:

  1. Click on the Taxes on the left menu.
  2. From the Sales Tax Center, select the Related Tasks option and click to Add/edit tax rates and agencies.
  3. Chose a tax rate name then click to Deactivate.
  4. Go with the Continue on the dialog box.

How to rename tax agency

  1. Click on the Taxes on the left menu.
  2. From the Sales Tax Center, select the Agency Name table.
  3. Click on the Rename for the agency name you have to edit.
  4. Edit the changes you have to do then click on Save.
